Editorial policy
We aim to make rugby explanations accurate, understandable and fair to the different ways people encounter the game. Readers should be able to tell what a piece explains, what it does not claim and when a correction has been made.
Accuracy and clarity
We check explanations against relevant rugby laws and established game terminology before publication, and distinguish a general principle from a detail that depends on a format or competition. We do not present a tactical reading as the only possible interpretation of a passage of play. If a point is uncertain or context-dependent, we say so plainly rather than smoothing over the distinction.
Independence and labels
Editorial decisions are kept separate from partnership discussions. Any sponsored or partner material is identified clearly where readers encounter it, and it does not determine the wording of independent editorial coverage. We do not imply that a partner has endorsed a rugby explanation or that an editorial article is an official interpretation.
Corrections and illustrations
If a reader spots an error, they can send the article title and the point in question through the Contact page. We review correction requests and make a clear correction when the explanation needs changing. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where used, they are treated as explanatory artwork, not as photographs or evidence of a real match.
